However, patinas can serve other purposes, like protecting the knife blade from oxidation and giving it a unique appearance.

I use a series of stones, ranging from coarse to fine, to produce a sharp finish on the bevel of the knife. Grit: #120 #320, #400, #800, #1000, #1200, #2000, #3000, #4000, #5000, #8000, #12000. The high concentration of ceramic particles results in fast honing.
